The Tortilla Trend: 3 Best Recipes
Welcome!
Welcome back to Recipes with Ricardo! As we lockdown once again in response to the COVID numbers, I have been browsing TikTok for hours at a time… I’m a little embarrassed… but it’s fun! In light of that, I thought I’d share my favorite recipes from the #TortillaTrend.
What is the Tortilla Trend?
Great question, reader! The tortilla trend is an easy and fun meal where you take a large tortilla and section it off in four quadrants. You put one ingredient in each quadrant, fold them on top of each other so it makes one triangle, warm in your panini press, and enjoy! If you don’t have a panini press (who does, in this economy!?) you can always place your tortilla in a frying pan and heat to perfection.
To get the perfect fold, cut one line from the center to the bottom (halfway only!), and once you’ve added your ingredients, fold one quadrant over the other until you’ve achieved a triangle.
@SimpleFood4You’s Recipe
I am going to name the ingredients by quadrant, though you can place them in any order. This one is the most complicated, but has the highest payoff.
I. 1/2 avocado (sliced) and three cooked bacon strips.
II. Breaded chicken strips (as many as can fit!) on top of hot jalapeno mjukost sauce.
III. Sliced tomato and a few slivers of sliced red onion.
IV. Sliced swiss cheese (2 pieces).
Place in your panini press and enjoy!
@CarterBK_’s Recipe
This one bears a resemblance to the chalupa supreme at Taco Bell, so if you like Mexican you’ll love this.
I. Pink sauce (ketchup and mayonnaise together) over chopped lettuce.
II. Caramelized onions.
III. One cooked beef patty.
IV. Three slices of American cheese.
Panini, don’t get pressed!
@HipFoodieMom1’s Recipe
This one is great for somebody with a sweet tooth, and it’s by far the easiest.
I. Spread Nutella.
II. A cup of sliced strawberries.
III. Half a banana, chopped.
IV. Almond or Peanut butter.
That’s it for this week! Stay tuned next week for another blog post, same as always! And make sure to check out last week’s blog post on what we’ve been up to in the new year. Thanks for reading, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Also, this will sadly be my last blog post. I loved working with SchnellerCo and truly believe in the excellence of our product, as I hope you do too. Goodbye for now, readers! I hope you had as much fun as I did with the recipes, and I hope you keep cooking!
