Introduction

Welcome to another Recipes with Ricardo cooking blog! As we know, summer is coming to a close, and I cannot wait for the fall. Autumn comes with everyone's favorite things: pumpkin spice lattes, trees turning beautiful colors, Halloween, and most importantly, Thanksgiving! We may be a few months early, but we here at SchnellerCo are looking to the future, and I can't wait for parades, puppy-bowls, and great food.

Inspiration

This week, we felt that the easiest was best, so we decided on a stress-free, easily made meal with all of the best parts of thanksgiving meal in one sandwich. The Thanksgiving Deluxe Sandwich is actually all store-bought, making it super easy to prepare, and cheap to make. It also serves as a great predecessor for Thanksgiving in three months. All our ingredients were bought at H-E-B, and will be detailed below, but feel free to use substitutions!

Purchasing Ingredients

All in all, the ingredients cost about 25 dollars, so it's very affordable. It also takes only 25 minutes to make, and can serve your whole family and leave delicious leftovers, too!

Cleaning Up

When cleaning up, remember to clean your cutting board properly, so it can stay looking as gorgeous as the day you bought it forever. If it's been a while since you've had to clean it, here's our blog post detailing how to properly clean written by the man behind the cutting boards himself, Jay Schneller.

Cutting Board Care

Ingredients-- Serves 4

  • Challah Buns

  • Stove Top Stuffing Mix for Turkey

  • Ocean Spray Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce

  • Pioneer Country Gravy Mix

  • Alexia Sweet Potato Fries

  • 1 Whole Rotisserie Chicken (Turkey works too, but chicken is easier to find)

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • Water

Directions

Click through the slideshow to see the progression of the meal!

  1. First, you want to cook the fries, as this will take the longest. Place them in your oven over parchment paper for 25 minutes at 425 degrees.

  2. Now to make the gravy, add 1½ cups of water and 4 tbsp of butter in a pot. Heat until boiling, then add the gravy mix.

  3. For the stuffing, add 1½ cups of water to a pot, heat until boiling, and add the stuffing mix.

  4. Chop the rotisserie chicken into small slices for your buns, and open the jar of cranberry sauce.

  5. Place the buns in the oven for 2-3 minutes at 350 degrees to warm them up.

  6. On the buns, serve the chicken first, then add gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce for a delicious flavor combo!
